How exactly is this a “damn good deal”?

I’m sorry, but I fail to see how repealing the mining tax, forgoing $6.5 billion of dollars of revenue, enlarging the buget deficit by the same amount, removing superannuation increases, killing off a general corporate tax cut and assistance for children’s education can be construed as a “damn good deal” by any stretch of the imagination? Was there not some sort of “budget emergency” that was supposed to be fixed by this government? If so, why get rid of another major revenue stream?

Maybe it’s just me and my use of “mathematics”, but none the above sounds like good news to me. Or, more likely, the government lives in a parallel dimension called Cloud Cuckoo Land.
